Dream Prescription is a New York City duo that draws on post-punk, darkwave and synthpop to forge a unique electronic rock sound.

Tim Robert (vocals/guitar) and Kent Friedman (synthesizer) met as DJ/producers who each made stirs in the international electronic scene. Called “one of the USA’s brightest stars” by Release Promo DJ Pool, Tim appeared at the prestigious Amsterdam Dance Event festival, while Kent was the first American producer to release psychedelic trance on vinyl in the U.S.

In early March 2020, Dream Prescription played their first live show to a packed house at renowned NYC club Berlin Under A and released their debut single "Double Life". Undeterred by the ensuing lockdown, the band threw themselves into writing, live streaming and recording, and in October 2020 they released their 2nd single "Never Giving Up On You" and live streamed to a worldwide audience at the Mondo NYC festival.

Dream Prescription returned to the live stage with a sold-out show at The Bowery Electric, NYC in May 2021 to celebrate the release of "Wavelength”, a 4-song EP confronting the dislocation and fragmentation of our time with songs powered by propulsive electronic grooves. This was followed by a series of well-received live shows and the release in October 2021 of "Wavelength Remixes", a reimagining of their debut EP by four top-tier progressive house producers: Robert Babicz, Cid Inc., Marcelo Vasami and EANP.

In the spring and early summer of 2022, the band released 3 singles, including “Never Enough”, which has seen nearly 10k streams on Spotify, while the official videos for the spring/summer 2022 singles have over 15k views on YouTube. Since returning to the live stage, the band has played at many well-respected and exciting NYC venues such as TV Eye, Berlin, The Bowery Electric, Ethyl’s and more. This fall, the band will release two more singles with accompanying videos, and continue to take to the stage in NYC.

Why doesn’t the real world live up to the world of dreams? How can we know what we want in the face of the bizarre distortions of modern society? Dream Prescription drives headlong into these questions with electronic music for the future.
